For All Of You Stupid Folks: Sharia Law Isn't Coming To America.

Remember Pastor Terry Jones? He was the Gainesville, FL area pastor who wanted to burn Qur'ans at his church, then cancelled the event after being pleaded with and condemned internationally. Apparently he's now in Detroit, getting ready to protest Dearborn, MI. Why you ask? He says they are under Sharia Law, or strict interpretation Islamic Law for those of you who don't know. The Mayor of Dearborn says they are not under Sharia, and has obvious evidence to prove it.

This nut job from Florida isn't the only nut to believe that we are under threat from Sharia. The state of Oklahoma banned Sharia Law last year. Towns have. Members of Congress have called for it's banning. A lot of people believe this is a problem, and for what reason, I don't know.

Let me inject some truth and reality into this debate: Sharia Law is not coming to the United States, and it wasn't coming before any of these nuts started crowing about it. For the hand full of total nuts who might be out there, somewhere, who want it to come, and for the apparently numerous nuts scared that it will, let me be clear with you, Sharia isn't and wasn't a threat to come to the United States, and has no chance of getting here.

This is a false debate to even be having. we live in a nation of secular laws. That will not change. It should not change.

It has already taken hold in various parts of Europe (including the UK), and the same efforts have been made in various Canadian provinces (including Ontario).

And we're stupid?

Yes, you are. Sharia law is neither a threat here, or possible here. I'm glad someone is sticking up for the dog whistle crowd though.
