Here's the stuff you should read this afternoon.
- Mitt Romney is claiming he didn't buy Florida. They also claim to have been outspent in South Carolina. Mitt's a bio candidate, and if he'd just be honest, he'd be a tough one.
- NYU Local looks at whether or not the $200,000 on the education was worth it. You know, this is really interesting stuff, and I have generally felt in recent years that we steer too many kids towards college. We stick them with a meaningless bachelors degree, tons of debt, and in many times, uncompetitiveness. Now, at NYU though, I doubt that.
- LVCI gets into farm subsidies, and makes some good points. Having lived in Iowa, and worked the caucuses in 2007-2008, I can tell you that I heard the stories first hand about how corporate farm subsidies made it impossible for the "little guy" to compete. I'll write more about agriculture in the coming days.
- Lehigh Valley With Love tells us of a Bangor teacher arrested for having sex with students. Apparently she's 26 and the boys were 17. As they say in the article, Bangor has had a teacher OD on heroin she got from a male teacher there, a teacher post racy photos online, and now this.
- Why Newt can't be Hillary. Bottom line to me: Hillary had actual supporters, Newt has people who hate Mitt.
- Due to really good recent polls, Democrats see a chance to win the House in November. The current House is such a disaster that I agree. I could see a 2000 inverse scenario coming from this race.
- Jon Geeting challenges NIZ critics. I pretty much agree with his sentiment, and think people are deliberately trying to confuse the people involved with the issue at hand.
- Proving that counting matters, the Chairman of the Iowa GOP is stepping own next week. He should be embarrassed. They don't really even know who won the caucus.
- Bernie O'Hare brags a bit about his blog traffic. Taking him at his word, his traffic is impressive, but bragging about your readership is kind of like bragging about your endowment, and most of us find that to be a "tool-ish" thing to do. With that said, I'm impressed. At the same time, I still don't think there's much reason for pols he doesn't support to give him the time of day. There's no reason why a Steve Barron should comment on his stuff, or John Callahan or his appointees should speak to him. He's there, pushing Charlie Dent and John Stoffa, which is his right to do, but there's no need for their rivals to indulge it.
