The Lehigh Valley's Top Bars, 2012 Spring Edition

I've done this before, so why not again? The top ten bars in the Lehigh Valley, as of this spring. I could have went much further, and this list has changed a bit from old ones. With that said, here it is, in no particular order.

  • 1818 Tavern- Palmer Township- Stemies 1818 Tavern is down the hill from home, and is probably one of the best run bars in the Valley. A chill crowd, awesome food, good beers, and lots of variety of drinks makes this place worth it. It will get crowded on Friday evenings, but that's not a bad thing.
  • Jack Callaghan's Ale House- Allentown- This is one of the most chill pubs around. Located in Allentown's West End, this place kind of attracts a "who's who" crowd of local politicos, attorneys, college kids, and just normal guys.
  • College Hill Tavern- Easton- Located just blocks from Lafayette College, this is one of my favorite hang-outs in the area. Just minutes from home, it's a weekly stop. I recently watched the NCAA Basketball Championship there. You can't go wrong, and the bartender girls are good.
  • Roosevelt's- Bethlehem- Not to be confused with the other version, this favorite of mine is just blocks from Moravian, the old stomping grounds, but was never this good back then. It can be a great place to just eat and watch a game, but after 10 on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, business really picks up, especially on the dance floor.
  • Delahanty's- Phillipsburg- Named for Phillies great Ed Delahanty, this bar on South Main Street has it all- from a deck overlooking the river, to an atmosphere inside that makes you want to go back.
  • Bethlehem Brew Works- Bethlehem- The original, and best Brew Works. You have to try the Nachos. They are loaded up with goodies, and it's a meal in and of itself.
  • Molly's- Bethlehem- Located just off of Lehigh's campus, if you ever want to know for sure if Lehigh is a party school, check this place out around 12. If you just want a chill bar with TV's to watch the game and drink at though, check this place out anytime.
  • The Tilted Kilt- Emmaus- Just off of 78, the Tilted Kilt features, well, attractive servers (girls in kilts), great beer, and surprisingly outstanding food.
  • OBT- Bethlehem- When you think of dive-college bars, this should be #1. It no longer looks like the above photo (the scaffolding is gone), but it's still clearly a really great place to go out with friends and just let loose.
  • P.J. Whelihan's- Bethlehem/Hanover Twp.- Just off of 22 on Schoenersville, this is another bar where those serving you are probably very attractive, there are a ton of TV's to watch, and the food is really, really good.
These are my favorite ten right now, though to be fair this list changes, and others were close. We'll do a summer version as well, but for now, I encourage you to check these out.
