NRCC Attacks Rick Daugherty?

Apparently, Rick Daugherty's $8,000 is scary to the NRCC.
The National Republican Congressional Committee has wasted no time going after U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent’s newest opponent.
Less than a week after Rick Daugherty won the Democratic nomination in the 15th District, the NRCC sent out a news release Monday that presses Daugherty – who runs the Lehigh CountySenior Center– on health care for senior citizens.
The news release describes the Affordable Care Act – if implemented as planned – as making it harder for the 2.3 million Pennsylvania seniors enrolled in Medicare to get doctors’ appointments.
“Daugherty must decide whether he will support the big-government health care law that would empower 15 bureaucrats to get between these seniors and their doctors, potentially denying care and increasing costs even further,” NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay said in the statement.
Then, the release tries to tie Daugherty, a 51-year-old social worker from Lowhill Township, to the law’s champions – President Barack Obama and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
The release is a form letter that was also sent out about Democrats George Badey and Manan Trivedi, but it strikes at the very issue Daugherty has built his campaign on. Daugherty initially decided to launch his challenge against Dent over Medicare . Dent, who voted against the new health care law, had supported a Republican budget that would have altered Medicare.

Aside from the fact that  this is just factually stupid, it's kind of funny that they even went here. I mean, really? If I were Dent, I would be acting like Daugherty isn't a serious opponent. I would pretend he's not there. The way that insurgent campaigns, which Daugherty currently is, catch fire, is by gaining attention. They get attention, get into a spat with the incumbent, raise money, get more attention, produce a poll that shows the race close, and then raise enough money to shock everyone.

Glad to see the NRCC engaging Rick. It's a long shot, but all the help they offer is great.
