We've Run The Course On The NIZ

On the one side, we hear how the NIZ is transformational, how it corrects the wrongs of the 1965 EIT law returning tax dollars to home municipalities. We hear how low rents are good for everyone, and how we need to encourage development in Downtown Allentown, if we want a prosperous region.

On the other side, we hear how the whole NIZ is corrupt, how the process is illegal, how it's awful for the whole region, and oh yeah, how awful the Mayor is who oversees it. In fact, he's awful enough to make Mayors this side previously disliked (and I supported, by the way) seem fine.

I want to see the arena built. I even want to see the office space in downtown Allentown. I also understand why the overwhelming majority of Valley residents don't want the NIZ, and why it harms them. I think this issue has run it's course though. We get the points at this point. Now, let's wait for some new news.
